My main instrument is the clarinet. I played it throughout middle and high school. My senior year of high school, I played oboe for one of the ensembles. I was also in percussion ensemble that year. I am now playing baritone saxophone for jazz, and hope to completely switch to saxophone as soon as possible.

I've never been to an actual concert besides school performances. Most of the groups I would've wanted to see have either broken up, stopped performing, or died :(

Memorable Live Music Experience

This one's going to be a little silly, but it has honestly made the most impact in my life. So as a rising 6th grader, we took a field trip to the middle school to have this elective fair thing. Each elective had a small presentation showcasing it. The band had their presentation in the auditorium. They played the Star Wars theme and at that moment 5th grade me knew I had to do band. Looking back at it, I bet that performance was not the greatest.

My family isn't really music involved. The only mention I can make in this is that my grandfather is a vocalist; back in his prime, he apparently toured with a famous salsa group in PR. Pretty cool stuff.

Type O Negative, Till Lindemann, and Steel Pulse

These are my absolute favorite musical entities. I have yet to dislike a song of theirs.

Till Lindemann makes music the way I would make music if I were to make it. It's like he does what my brain is thinking if that makes sense? Not sure about the lyrics though, but good on him for using his freedom of expression.

Type O Negative's music has a specific emotion attached. I love it. It's not a positive emotion, but that's what makes the listening experience so much better. Listen to them if you haven't.

Steel Pulse. I love the passion. So passionate about their topics. It's as if you can feel the frustration they express whether they're telling a story or just giving their opinion on a topic, over such a happy little beat. Love it.

Plans for the Future:

I plan to become a high school band teacher. I want to teach kids that care about something, and have enough prior knowledge to improve on something already learned.

Why on Earth do I want to be a teacher?

My high school band teacher. I want to inspire people like he inspired me. I want to be that person that changes people's lives; someone worth remembering.
