Tedtalk of Sherry Turkle entitled "Connected but alone" gives me so many insights on how technology change who we are but we are not aware of it. She said "the small devices in our pocket are so psychologically powerful that they not only change what we do. They change who we are." It's true because we're already depending to technology in different ways. We depend to it when we're bored, we use it when we're having our presentation infront of our classmates and when we're lazy taking down notes, we will just take a photo of it.

In addition, we're getting addicted to it and some people even said that they can't live without their phone. For an instance, when we lost our phone, we will cry for it. There would even be a time that we forgot our books or projects but we never forget our phones. Also, some of us laugh on our friends when they fall but when our phone falls or ruined we will cry for it. We already dont know how to teasure someone from something.

Another point, she said that we expect more from technology and less from one another. Technology nowadays is what people make as their best friend since when we're emotionally unstable we tend to open our social media accounts then post our thoughts because, in our opinion, in social media, there are many automatic listeners who seem to care about us. She discussed how people were getting used to a new way of being alone together. Having technology makes us use it even we are hanging out with our friends. There would be a time that even you are together with them, you would text or chat what you wanted to say to each other. With those actions, we are losing ourselves on how to make a conversation. We are forgetting the value of having a face to face talk rather than sending a message through chat when we want to tell something. Technology makes ourselves miss the opportunity of bonding together with someone physically, enjoy the moment and making memories with each other.
