My older children didn't have computers in their classroom very much, but they can write really well.
If IT and coding are now going to be specifically part of the Australian Curriculum, what resources will government provide for access to the actual technology?

APC response: There is no magic age - Australian guidelines suggest 0-2 no tech time and 2-5 one hr p/day. The important issue is balance. Consider what quality media you are enabling your child to access and how it fits into your family’s lifestyle. Chances are that if your child is using high-quality age appropriate media and their screen time is balanced with adequate off screen activities, then their behaviour is constructive and there is no need to worry.
