Thinking about the end to end alignment, and operationalising your intentions even to the last mile

Constant contracting and checking in with people (eg Team 1-3, and us with ILOD and other stakeholders)

Every role is important (even the tape cutter. Tape holds things together)

Being experimental, and prototyping and iterating quickly

Leaning in on each other's strengths and finding ways to be useful and value-add

Sometimes we are so focused on the end product's high quality, but we need to also ensure that the process is a positive and meaningful one!

Dont be caught up with the kinks and bumps along the way, just roll with it (like the ball)

Simple things deployed in a new way may be a fresh and useful solution

Team's willingness to try and iterate along the way helped us refine.

Generative "yes, and" was more helpful and productive throughout the trying process than "no this doesnt work"

Every decision we make is important, has implications on the whole system/dept. Hope to be mindful when designing programmes and always consulting each other
When redesigning programmes, we worry how new interventions will turn out (well received or not) but as long as everyone in the team has an end in mind (good pax experience, learning experience), it should turn out fine.
How do we design positive experience without being overly goal oriented?
Trial and error, if it doesn’t work just try. Always see it as an opportunity to improve
Having fun experimenting - while we have broader learning objectives, we can also have fun getting there and make mistakes. Important to know what each home teams is doing, helps to see the bigger picture and lead the programme with more informed decisions
Trust the process, as long as we are aligned with the end goal
May assume that everyone knows what they are doing. Be mindful to check in with everyone. Bringing back to our own programmes, stakes are higher, will everyone be ok to fail?

The ball run activity served as a powerful reminder of how individual components of a programme integrate to create a cohesive participant experience. It highlighted the importance of balancing ambitious learning objectives with the practical need to pivot in real-time, modifying our approach to meet the dynamic needs of various stakeholders. This experience also underscored the value of seeking diverse perspectives through cross-functional collaboration to facilitate these adjustments effectively. On a personal level, it was an exercise in self-awareness, prompting us to consider how to best leverage our strengths within the team while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of our own capabilities.

it can be difficult to extrapolate lessons for work from a single afternoon's activity. if we are forced to answer, I suppose it's about being open to experimentation, and have the spirit to just try things out.
