Textiles, we got to make our own authentic design that tells our story, I am expecting to learn about culture through pencil cases, I want to make a design that communicates countries values and cultutre through tradition

I did food tech last year in semester 2 and one thing that was interesting was working in a group to complete the project. I think this textiles project will help me learn about a new culture and share that culture through design choices. I hope to make a design that looks good and also has a good message.

This unit was Wood tech, Let there be light and I made this lamp.

The wiring was very hard to do and my light switch didn't work so if you wanted it off you had to unplug it.

I want to make a makeup bag that actually works and has nice colours/patterns.

I made a lamp in the let there be light unit. I found wiring the lights into the lamp was harder as it was hard to fit it in. I hope we make a makeup bag with good colours and patterns.

I completed my salad in food tech in the semester 2 2024. It was interesting learning different cooking techniques. This semester i think we will be learning about different cultural patterns. I hope to make a good design that reflects the country i chose well.

i did the cad cam unit in semsester 2 last year. I found creating shapes on auto cad the hardest part of the project. im expecting to learn about different ways of sewing. i wish to make aesthetic desgin this time

I did food tech, and we got to grow the vegetables that we wanted to use in our salad. Over the semester, we got to work in groups and create different foods from different cultures. I wish to make an aesthetic design.

I did the desk lamps unit where I got to create a lamp. The most difficult thing was the wiring and cutting and retrying to make the light work. I liked designing the overall lamp. I expect to learn about the country that I make the bag on and I want to make a bag that I will use.

I did coding last year and this was my game centered around the company CAMFED. The not for profit organisation focused on gaining resources to support the education of young girls in Africa. I think the textiles course will help me better recognise and learn about different cultures. I hope to incorporate varying patterns that relate to specific cultures and traditions to the make up bag to better represent the country that I have selected.

I completed this product for food tech.
One thing that was memorable throughout making this product is combining ideas from each person in my group and cooperate together. This enabled us to tick off specific criteria. Something that I found difficult during this project is time management. My group and I were given a deadline during class. This meant we have two periods to create the salad and then present it. Due to the limited amount of time we had to develop our time management skills.
I think the textiles project will be challenging since the last time I did textiles was in year 7, so I have forgotten some skills. I am expecting to re-learn some sewing techniques.
I wish to make a design which relates to me and incorporates cultural aspects and traditions which are apparent in my life. This could be through designs, patterns, colours or stitchings.

In the unit of Cad Cam I made a toy which was aimed to be made for the children of Timor Leste. It was difficult when printing out the actual toy but was memorable to be in a group of 2 to assist when making the project. I think the textiles project will be about constructing a makeup bag in association with a culture. I hope my design is nice to look at but also has deeper message.
