I am working with my Tech Director who ordered 10 Spheros for me to play with because I WONDER if I could use them to make a huge model of photosynthesis/cellular respiration and use each one as a carbon atom.

Revisited:
I read during my literature review that piloting new projects like this sphero idea by just "diving in" is a good method to just tinker and learn with the students as you go. I took notes as to what worked and what didn't and it was an overall success. I now can see the uses for coding with spheros and getting those students who are otherwise tuned out, engaged.

Its hard for me to decide which interactive video lesson tool to use. PlayPosit works well with Schoology but Edupuzzle works well with GClassroom. I WONDER which one is best for my students.

Revisited:
The tool is secondary to the pedagogy as I move deeper and deeper into this course but I now see that students are supplementing a lot of their reading for short videos as a way to comprehend complex concepts, particularly in science. One thing from research is that student regulated learning can be attained using either one of these tools. The more and more I learn about distance education the more I see the need to videos, especially those created by the instructor (me) making their way in to a "blended classroom" curriculum. I have decided to put all of my physiology unit lectures on PlayPosit and see how it goes.

I had a student do her Osmosis project presentation using Moovly.com. I was blown away. I WONDER what other projects my students can use this tool for??

Revisited:
What this course has taught me more than anything is that older more traditional teaching strategies tend to be teacher focused and don't allow for individuated student engagement. Having students themselves create videos instead of just watching them on YouTube allows them to instill personal value and context in vocabulary terms. Having to create the video using these terms based on one study I read for my case study is important.

I currently use PearDeck for my interactive lessons but sometime see features in Nearpod that PearDeck hasn't incorporated. I WONDER which one is more engaging for my students.

Revisited:
For special needs students that struggle with direct instruction these types of interactive learning tools allow each student to be heard and participate. One of the great things about both of these programs is the archived data it generates for the students. Teaching standards are forcing us to use data more and more to drive our instruction and using cold call techniques during direct instruction with no data after a teacher is done to refer back to is a trend that is dying off.

One thing that I have learned is that the technology is being introduced into education faster than educator can keep up. The TPACK model has never been more relevant. For students that need to visualize concept, literally in front of them, especially ELs who struggle with vocabulary in science courses where tier 3 words are prevalent this tool will help better make a connection to the learning in order to store long term knowledge.

While looking at the presentations regarding trends in education and reading the chapter on students with special needs one way we can reach students that couldn't wise visit or travel to places that are discussed in class is through virtual field trips. I have a feeling that Google Cardboard is already out dated and that unless the students are putting on an HTC Vive (which is breaking into education) or a Microsoft HoloLens they will be underwhelmed.
