We're using the Rising Stars progress Tests for Maths, Reading comprehension, Science and SPaG for sumve assessment. We use the Oxford Reading Tree Criterion Scale (ORCS) for reading and the Schonell Graded Spelling Test for spelling. For Writing, the policy is changing at the moment and a new one is being put in place. There's not a policy for the other baseline diagnostic tests. We are required to do assessment for learning during every lesson that we teach and mark the classwork within a day with written feedback. The works marked for English and Maths have to be linked to the KPI. We have weekly Spelling tests and Maths test on Friday.

The school's Assessment Policy is around "Learning outcomes, which include knowledge and understanding of a subject as well as cognitive, personal and academic skills should be explicitly stated in each unit of work and these should be the pivot around which the whole course is developed."
The main purposes for assessment are to determine what has been learned and what needs to be learned. That includes assessing at the beginning in order to understand prior knowledge, assessing as we teach in order to go over material, move along, and to change direction if necessary during each lesson. It is ongoing and diagnostic in order to provide ongoing data about learner's readiness to move forward. We use the IB standards and relevant rubrics to guide the learning process.
