         <description><![CDATA[<div>What is an assessment?<br>Getting to know what the kids know and how you, the teacher, will use the information of what they know. What did you do today that they took away or that they miss?<br><br>Go To Assessments:<br>-Exit tickets: jot down something to show that they were listing and got the material. <br>*Quick Assessment is the best Assessment: <em>The goal is to find a way to tell you if they got it and you can move on or if their needs to be more time spent on the lesson.*<br><br></em><em><mark>Relationships are everything in the classroom and its important to acknowledge SEL in your classroom.</mark></em><em><br><br></em>Greatest Advice for New Teachers: <br>-Build a relationship with your students: showing interest in the students and making those connections, sitting with them and working with them. <br>-Procedure: go slow to go fast, you can never do too many procedures. When they know exactly what to expect they feel more secure and they know what to expect.<br><br>Why Teach?<br>Smiles on the students face. Getting the students interested in learning. <br><br>Room Tour, Interesting Inclusions: <br>-Students individual/All about me section<br>-Wondering Wall: if the students have a thought or question during the lesson they put it on the wondering wall to be brought back up later for more explanation. <br>Layover Activities: activities they can do when they are finished early and its displayed in the class. <br>NES: displayed what is need for that day to avoid constant questioning <em><br><br></em><br></div>]]></description>

Figuring where are we going, where do we need to go and where did we end up?<br><br>Know you have a standard tool and looking at all kids on the same bases. <br><br>Go To Assessments: <br>- Learning Continuing in Math used to group kids and see where they are. <br>- Small Groups: seeing them in front of you and seeing how they are learning. <br><br>**YOU NEED TO KNOW YOUR KIDS**<br><br>How to Work Smarter not Harder: <br>Collaborations, it is not about you. Using the resources that are given and experience.          <description><![CDATA[<div>What is an assessment?<br>Any time of your life, where you have goal or objective and you have to see whether or not you have completed this goal. Either seeing how close you are or that you've finished<br><br>Go to assessments: <br>Educator rubric - keeps you more objective and on task with what is meaningful. Create your own to be particular and match your expectations for performance. <br><br>Work Smarter not Harder: <br>-Rubric hold you accountable and there is not guessing games. The expectations are written out and easy. <br>-We do not have to have massive amounts of homework but instead use formative assessments to quickly identify where students are struggling and how to adjust to their struggles. <br><mark><br>Have procedures and routines from DAY 1!</mark><br><br>Having routines creates safety, they know what to expect in your classroom .&nbsp;<br><br>Resources:&nbsp;<br>*Learning by Doing: high functioning PLC will lead to increased student learning<br>*Excellence in Every Classroom: discuses what skills need to be in place for students to achieve at a high level. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Where you start is not where you will end!<br><br>What is assessment?<br>Can students apply the knowledge or do they show they can use what they are being taught?<br><br>Make sure students apply the knowledge to something that is similar because we want the knowledge to be transferred and how it works across the board not just one subject matter<br><br>When you give them the opportunities to show you that they are growing in that certain<br><mark>If you give them a final grade the learning stops so we want them to have opportunities to continue to grow</mark><br><br>Things you wish you knew before:<br>-Planning with your lesson, start with your standards and what do they actually mean or what does it look like<br>-How if it is applied what would it look like<br>-Break it down into five essential questions or thought<br>-Never keep it a secret let them know your essential questions and thoughts</div><div><strong><br>Design independent moments where they can own their own assessment</strong></div><div><em><br>Smarter not Harder:</em><br>*Go slow to start,&nbsp; because it can be overwhelming<br>*What is something you can do tomorrow to make in impact, something small<br><br>Build equity within your system.
