His lawyer was trying to tell him what to say and what to do so he could possibly have a chance winning his case. When you dont want to do things isn't it because you dont want to? The reason you go through with things that you dont want to do is mainly because peer pressure. Your friends are doing it so why not you join. Before you do the bad thing you should ask yourself could I go to jail for this, do i really want to basically want to say goodbye to my life? That is why you should never do something you don't want to do because chances are that their is going to be consequences.

When i see handcuffs i think of someone going to jail or someone that did something bad. Hearing the sound of them closing is like part 1 of going to jail because the sounds of handcuffs closing and the sound of a prison cell bars closing sound the same to me. Handcuffs go along with this book because this book is basically showing you that you do not want to be in jail. When you get handcuffs on you it mean you did something bad. Lets say you stole something, your going to jail. What if you kill someone? Jail. If you do something that is not right you should already know where you going. People woud cry when theyre in the courtroom talking about i wish i never did that, but they did it so its no going back. Everyone honestly knows how jail is. You read books about it, you see movies with it, you hear about it. Jail is not a fun place to visit. People make descions based on how theyre filling then but later will regret it. I bet if Steve Harmon would of have the chance to think what his consequences would be he wouldve decided not to participate in the murder. There are laws, and we all do have to follow them. For example, do not steal or kill. If anyone decide not to follow the law then they would be taken to jail. We have rules for a reason, its for us to follow them. If we didnt have laws there would be so many more crimes and many more people dead. In Monster that is a reason Steve Harmon is in jail, because he did not want to follow the law. That is why he is wanting to get out now. Anyone could be "innocent" how could you tell? If your innocent then that mean you didnt do anything wrong. Poeple have different meanings of innocent. A courtroom is where you meet the judge to see how the rest of your life may look. When i think of courtroom i think of a place where you dont want to be. Being in a courtroom is probably the scariest place you could be in. The judges dont know you so they are not going to care if your in jail for the rest of your life. Sometimes a courtroom be good to you because you think you have a 99.9% chance the judge will believe your innocent. If the police is investigating the crime scene you want them not to find your fingerprints. If your fingerprints are all over the crime scence then your going to jail, because theyre going to know you had something to do with the crime. A investigation could take days, weeks, and even months to figure out and if they think your a person of interest then your going to be in jail until they say you had nothing to do with it. Why spend unneccesary time in jail if you dont have to?
