Butterfly tapping is pretty safe to introduce to kids. The same tapping back and fourth can be done on the legs or tapping your two feet back and forth in a rhythm. from what I understand, stimulating the two sides of your body while you breath deeply sends back and forth the two sides of your brain, helping you disrupt the signals to your "downstairs brain".

When I know I've entered my "downstairs brain" I know that I need some kind of sensory grounding. Ice pack on the neck, tape on my arms, drawing on the arms and hands, different fabric feelings, humming a tune, singing, etc. When I can't reset from big emotions, taking a good long walk or bike ride at the end of the day has really helped. A thermos with adult contents helps that walk out.

I liked the slides on positive childhood experiences. That was new and hopeful.

I would love to see more EEG style data take on brains while they learn as well as on stress responses.
