4. Crystal explains that varieties of English are culturally influenced. He speaks about Clapham Junction and SOHO as examples of British English being culturally defined. What does he say about SOHO and Clapham Junction which you can only understand if you are familiar with the British cultural background? 

-       we have no idea what a word means if we don’t know the cultural background.

-       in every country in the world there is a new variety of English growing which is culturally influenced.

- if you don’t understand a word in a sentence because of the cultural background you don’t understand the meaning of the whole sentence.
