The difference between my first and second orchestra, was this time I actually understood more because of music appreciation. At the concert, the person welcoming us in the doors, handed us a programs with all sorts of stuff about the performance tonight. I never thought classical music actually told a story until I started to read the program notes, I always believed only music with lyrics were the ones who told a story. During the concert they performed two songs, the first was Symphony No.2: The Age of Anxiety and the second one was Symphony No. 5 in B-flat Major. Symphony No. 2: The Age of Anxiety, was a story about four strangers who find themselves in the same local pubs, with philosophical moods which is part one, then part two is about them in a cab rude traveling to Rosetta's apartment. Symphony No. 5 in B-flat Major, was a story about an era of patriotism, optimism, and quality that Soviet leadership demands. My favorite instrument in the concert was the harp, because it was so pretty and soft.
