What if classmates of an ADHD do not want to include him in their group assignments because he slows them down due to his slower speed and inability to understand the problem given and can't contribute to problem solving? When we forced a group to include him, the peers became emotionally stressed but when we exclude him, we feel that we could be excluding him socially. In the end the peer relationship becomes very stressed.

I have an autistic pupil who have normal IQ level for his age, so it's not a problem when doing writing task or completing worksheet but the behaviors of him like always mentioning time (taking my hand to look at my watch), asking repeated questions like “what time do we go home” or when he not seeing someone he used to, he will keep asking even though we (teachers) keep answering it. Sometimes when the questions are already been answered many times, we kinda threat him saying like “you cannot go home”, then he stop and become obedient. But then he repeat the behavior again, then we say the same threat. again and again. My question is, can this give him bad affect emotionally or mentally? For meantime, this is just the way to correct any of the behaviour of him or to shape any behaviour to make him fit to the peers.

Thank you in a advance Prof. Sharifah :)

That is very true. My former student didn't want to share any of her problems because she ever shared her problems and traumas to a school counsellor, it ended up the next day most of the teachers gave her a weird stare because the counsellor told the other teachers about her. She was really embarrassed. She was later diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and still scared to open up and ask for help.

My friend teaches deaf students and one of her students jumped out of the balcony because her dad threatened to rotan her. The dead student's twin sister self harms because of an argument with a friend. As adults/teachers, how do we deal with students who may be 'extra sensitive'? Especially when we feel like there's not much we can do as a teacher
