In the book., Shiloh Judd was mean. He never cared for others or animals. Later in the series, Judd was a lot kinder. My proof of this is in Shiloh, Judd always kicks his dogs! He also shot a doe out of season. And he keeps his dogs chained up and sometimes doesn't feed them. In Shiloh Season Judd is still pretty mean, because Marty´s dad goes over to Judd´s to tell Judd to stop shooting in the woods behind their house but Judd got really mad and yelled a lot.. In Saving Shiloh Judd saves Shiloh when Shiloh jumps in to save Dara Lynn when she falls in! Judd ties one end of a rope to a tree and the other to him. He jumps in and is trying to get Shiloh to come to him and Judd finally calls Shiloh Shiloh and he gets Shiloh out of the water! In the end Judd gives Marty a hug and Judd is nice .

(Judd)
In the book, Shiloh, Judd was a mean and selfish man. As the series progressed, he changed and be, kinder and selfless. In the first book, Judd was super mean by kicking and not giving his hunting dogs and Shiloh a lot of food and killing a Doe out of season only thinking about food for himself instead of laws being selfish. But then as the book went on he got nicer and near the end, he actually gave Marty some water while he was doing chores on a hot day.

In the second book Judd got unaware because he acsadently knocked over his mailbox and thought Marty did it and he accidentally drove into the creek so he went from kinda kind to back to mean. Then in the third book, Judd became nicer and selfless. He let Marty make the fence for the dogs so they could run around and play and when Dara lynn almost drowned and Shiloh saved her but then Shiloh almost drowned and Judd went in the water and saved Shiloh. By the end of the final book Judd was selfless and kind.

The theme for the Shiloh series is sometimes a hero doesn't need to be human, it can be a special animal. In the first book, Shiloh Started to bond with Marty and they became friends Then in Shiloh Season, Shiloh, found Judd when he got in a car accident. He alerted the family and they were able to get him to the hospital and save his life. Finally in the final book, Saving Shiloh, Shiloh saved Dara Lynn when she jumped in the water and Judd saved Shiloh

The theme across the series is to not to judge a person before you really give them a chance. In Shiloh, Marty really wanted Shiloh and Marty saw Judd shoot a doe out of season and Judd thought Marty was planing to see him do something bad, but Marty was telling Judd he wanted Shiloh.
In Shiloh Season, Judd was driving a drunk and hunting drunk and when Marty and the girls were playing hide and see k and
for taking her. But it was not Judd, he was at his house the whole time . In Saving Shiloh, Marty's friends were misreading Judd by thinking he they thought he killed the guy from Ben's run but it was the prisoners they were the ones that stole from houses when people were gone. They also thought he purposely killed his dog, but Judd accidentally stepped on the dog's foot which made the dog bite Judd and then Judd hit the dog in self-defense. By the end of the book, the people in town thought that Judd should be on the rescue squad because he saved Shiloh. Marty's family thought that he would always be kind. ( finish with final thought that shows the theme)

In the book Shiloh, Judd was cruel to people and animals. He hurt his hunting dogs and kept them chained up. Judd was always looking for money. Judd tricked someone into giving him extra money. Judd had this small beagle who ran away from him. The beagle ran to a neighbor boy, Marty Preston. Marty named the beagle Shiloh due to finding him by the old Shiloh Schoolhouse. As the series progressed, Judd changed and became more understanding. He let Marty work for him to earn Shiloh. In the next book, Judd got drunk and did things he didn't mean to do. So people think differently about Judd then. Then accidentally, Judd drives into a pothole and his truck rolls into a ditch. He scratches his truck and broke his leg but is grateful that Shiloh called for help. Judd changes by feeling better about the Preston's and their dog Shiloh. Then in the next book Saving Shiloh, Judd is nicer to all of his dogs. He lets Marty come over and put up a fence so his dogs can run around in open space. Then later in Saving Shiloh Dara Lynn falls in the Middle Island Creek and Shiloh go's in to save her and Judd jumps in to save Shiloh when Dara Lynn gets out. Judd changes by being more kind to animals and people.
