I teach Observation, students work in small groups on an observation project at the end of the course (3 lessons out of 30). It is very useful to build in the students the awareness that all that we did has a precise place in an observation project. It also allows to see what is not fully clear. I should dedicate more time to this project in the next years

I use polls or open-ended questions with Wooclap (or similar) both to see what students expect about a topic and to see what they have understood or liked most (or found mostly difficult).

Project based learning. Final year students on a UK university module called 'Intercultural communication'. Students in groups worked with a local student accommodation company - the task was to provide a report to market the company that would suit not just UK students, but meet international students' expectations. They wrote a research report and also had to deliver a presentation in their groups to the CEO who then decided which report/suggestions to accept and then use them. An example too of widening participation between the university and local business, and the students could add this to their CV, so ticking the 'employability' box!
