They left UK on a ship called Mayflower. 
When they arrived life was very hard: in fact they didn't know how to build houses, how to grow food. Many of them died of cold. 
The Native Americans helped them: they shared their food and taught them how to grow food and to hunt. 
One year later from their arrival to the New World, the English decided to thank God for the help received and for the big harvest. 
This party was called the THANKSGIVING, which is still a big holiday today.
