This piece of evidence shows that religion was a crucial part of Mesopotamian life because it helped explain the world's natural processes. Having a way to explain things was crucial because it made them develop a loyalty to the gods, and a purpose of their overall society. This helped create incredible social structures.

Others may argue that their government was the most influential because of their advanced law systems that other cities had not developed at the time. And while that may be true, religion was the basis for their government system. They developed the government system because of their beliefs, they made the king, king because they thought that he could communicate with the gods. The religion helped reinforce political power, priests also helped with social bonds of Mesopotamia.

In conclusion, religion is the foundation of society. Religion helps people create stories that bring people together over shared ideas. It helps people make sense of a hectic world with seemingly unexplained aspects. It helps people create morals that help guide them through their decisions in life.
