Tradition- The culture of Madagascar reflects the origins of the Malagasy people in Southeast Asia and East Africa. The influence of Arabs, Indians, British, French and Chinese settlers is also evident. 
Music- The ‘Valiha’ and ‘marovany’ are traditional music instruments of Madagascar. both are played in most of the country as a legacy to the island’s Malayo-Polynesian heritage. Then comes the rattle stuffed with rice seeds, called a korintsana.
Arts- Madagascar's handwoven cloth, or lamba, serves as a ceremonial gift and a valued symbol of the island's cultural and artistic heritage. The Malagasy -- the peoples of Madagascar -- offer cloth to rulers, ancestors and spirits in return for blessings.
