There is a young-star basketball player that goes by the name, Drew Robinson. Drew is a 15-year old boy who knows how to ball. He is by far the best player on his team and maybe even in California. Drew loves to play basketball and spends every minute playing it, but he never really does his homework by himself. He always has his best friend Lee do it. They made a deal saying that Lee would do Drew's homework as long as Drew helped win Lee a championship. Mr. Shockey assigns the Drew a paper in which he has to right about someone who influences him. Drew had a couple of days to decide what he wanted the topic to be. After a couple of games had past, Drew went to Morrison park late after his night game. Drew notice an older man playing ball where he always went. Drew watched from a distance and hid so the "ghost" man wouldn't find him. The "ghost" man did some amazing things that Drew could do, dunk, shoot from way far back, and move pretty fast. Drew was fascinated. Then Drew tried to talk to the man and the man ran away. The next day Drew told Mr. Shockey that he wanted to do a paper on an old-time legend. Mr. Shockey helped Drew out by telling him to do it on Urban "Legend" Sellers. Drew didn't know who he was because Urban sellers had died in a fire. Drew later told Lee about his topic so Lee could do the homework. Drew also told Lee about the "ghost" man. Drew asked Lee if he could drive him over to Morrison park to see him again. They waited for a while and then they saw him. They watched the man do his amazing work. They didn't say anything and the man left. Lee couldn't believe what he had saw. Drew's team had to go against a team that they knew that they could beat and they did. The next school day Drew saw Callie Mason, the girl who Drew likes. Drew tried to use his charm on her, but she rejected him and made him feel embarrassed. After a couple of more days past, Drew went back to Morrison park and saw the "ghost' man again, this time Drew wanted to talk to him, but Drew started dribbling the ball knowing that that was another way to talk to him. The "ghost" man knew he couldn't get away this time, so he kept on shooting. Drew and the "ghost" man talked for a while. The man had saw Drew's last game and thought Drew was decent. Drew didn't think nothing of it and asked what the man's name was. The man responded, "My name is Donald." After that Donald had to go. The next game Drew was going against King Gadsen, who people called "The King Jr" after LeBron "The King" James. Drew thought this game was him vs King. Drew and King would go back and forth throughout the game, but Drew's shot wasn't really falling, but Lee's was. Lee was on fire and the Drew's team was down by two with 10 seconds left. Drew wanted to take the shot to prove who was better, so Drew drove to the basketball even though he was basically triple teamed. Lee was wide open and yelling, "I'm open!" Drew heard it and could have dished it out, but took the shot instead and missed. Drew and Lee were disappointed. Drew looked up after a while and noticed Donald was standing there. After the game, Drew was mad and decided to walk home. He noticed Donald walking down a run-down street. Drew decided to follow Donald all the way to his apartment without Donald seeing him. Donald went into to his apartment and Drew waited for a little while. Drew found Donald's room and knocked. Donald opened the door and was surprised. Donald let Drew in and told Drew who he really was. Donald was Urban "Legend" Sellers. Drew couldn't believe this and Urban said, "You can not tell anybody about who I really am or else you will never see me ever again." Drew wanted to tell people so bad, but said, "I won't tell anybody." Drew had a one good game and one bad game. Urban had made it to the bad game and thought Drew was heading down the wrong path. The next night, Drew went back to Urban's place to talk. Urban gave Drew a few lessons learned and told him to think about everything. Urban also told Drew about how he never graduated high school and how he has a job for just enough money to get by. Urban wasn't afraid to tell people who he was, but was afraid of the spotlight again. Drew didn't think nothing of it and left. Drew was shooting around the next day in the gym and Callie came in. They talked and they both wanted to play "H-O-R-S-E". They did and both wanted to win. Drew was close to losing, but decided to put the game away by dunking the ball. As soon as he landed, Callie was walking out. Later that day Drew and Lee went to Mr. Gilbert's to hang out. Drew got this "great" idea to take Mr. Gilbert's Maserati out for a spin, even though he didn't have his license yet. Lee knew this was a bad idea, but went anyways. Drew went down a road going way above the speed limit and Lee knew that this was going to turn bad. Then all of a sudden, they both could hear the siren of the cop. Drew was so scared that he didn't know what to do and lost control of the car. The car crashed into a tree and Drew had banged up his knee. Before the cops got there, Lee moved Drew out of the driver's seat and moved himself into the driver's seat. They both knew that would mean Lee would probably get suspended. Lee was suspended for the last three games, but Drew was going to keep the secret even though he wanted to tell the truth. They both got into trouble, but this made Drew think about everything he has. Drew needed help and went to Urban. Urban tried to help him, but Drew knew what to do after Lee sat out one game. Drew went to Mr. Shockey and told him how he was the one behind the wheel. Coach couldn't believe Drew and made Drew sit out the last two games of the season. During that time, Drew saw Callie and said he was sorry and they both went out for a study at the library and dinner. Drew didn't expect much, but then saw Urban sitting at a table and went over to him. Urban was trying to learn and then Drew told Urban that he could talk to Mr. Shockey to have him take classes to graduate. Urban didn't like the idea at first, but then decided that he would do that. Drew also introduced Urban to Callie and they were like friends from the start. When Callie dropped Drew off later that night, Callie gave Drew a kiss on his cheek. Drew felt fine then and thought that he could do anything. Drew sat out a couple of playoff games too, but returned for the big game, the championship game versus King Gadsen. This time Drew knew it wasn't Drew vs King, it was Drew's team vs King. The game came down to 10 seconds and Drew had the ball. Drew drove into the lane again, where he was tripled team, but he did the right thing. He passed. Passed it right to Lee for the open shot and Lee drained it. Drew, Lee, and the team had won the championship. Drew had turned in his paper on Urban and got an A on it by doing it by himself. A few months past and it's graduation day. Lee and Urban were going to graduate.

The theme of the story is to think things through and do the right thing. It might be tough to do the right thing, but it will be the best way out of everything. Drew had gotten behind the wheel of Mr. Gilbert's Maserati and crashed it. Lee had been with him and switched seats with Drew before the cops came. Drew and Lee both lied and Lee got suspended for a game. After that game, Drew went to Mr. Shockey and told him he was the one driving. Also, Drew had met Urban and Urban told Drew to not tell anyone about who he was. Drew really wanted to tell Lee, his best friend, but knew that that wasn't the best decision.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves basketball or just wants to read a good book. The book has a good lesson learned because people need to think about the consequences and need to do the right thing. Every little action has it's own consequence and needs to always be thought about in advance. I would give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.
