This shows how he is willing to sacrifice himself to save others. This also showed his character development as he would not have done that at the beginning of the story.
Weakness
Naive,
From when he was born up until meeting Conner and Risa, Lev was naive. He believed everything his parents said to him about him being a tithe. They made him believe that it was an honor to serve God with him being unwound.

Weakness
levs main weakness at the start of the novel is his inability to make his own decisions and life choices he's a follower (sheep). This is shown when he follows cy-fi around the USA just to have a purpose in life. Another time during the novel we see this weakness in Lev is when he joins a group (the clappers) without knowing their true cause.
Strengths
Lev is adaptable, he becomes the person he needs to be to fit in and survive, and an example of this is pretending to be part of Risa and Connor's team when they were on the run. He also disguised himself as a tithe when he was really a clapper with the mask. He has this strength because he has no true purpose and doesn't know who he is, which makes Lev vulnerable to influence and adapts to be who people want him to be.

Lev - Overview

Lev's identity crisis leads to a level of vulnerability. When he is no longer able to identify as a 'tithe' his whole purpose in life is in question. This leads to a desire to find a sense of purpose and belonging and is ultimately what makes him to the influence of Cleaver and the clappers (good band name!). His desire to find a purpose culminates in him joining this terrorist group. His adaptability means he can 'fit in' with any group - but it also points to his lack of moral grounding (hence his betrayal of Connor and Risa when he tells the police they are at the school with the bay).
Evidence:
"Being torn from his purpose was the most unnerving thing that has ever happened to Lev.."
"But they loved God more than they loved me and I hate them for it."
"And when they told Lev how important he was....for the first time in a long time, he felt truly important."
Pastor Dan to Lev: "No one knows whether you're a monster or a hero." Lev, in response: "Is there a third kind?" (hints at the idea there is good and evil ("dark and light") in us all.
