I touch the spines of books, and plates and glasses, and receipts, and wine bottles
I worry about the tenacious messiness of my apartment
I cry, for my friends have all moved away

I understand the necessity for balance
I say things are “not my circus, not my monkeys”
I dream about my future classroom
I try to keep up with it all
I hope for repose in the near future
