Drunk girl was written it from a fathers perspective. Chris Jason is a father of four and he understands what it's like to have girls. He is trying to connect with other fathers and men in general to treat girls with respect as if they were fragile. Chris Jason is trying to emphasize that being a gentlemen to a woman is really important ("Chris Jason's Songs..."). There may not be a specific occasion, but the times that we’re in right now and with everything going on with sexual assault and harassment, I think fits perfectly, maybe even better now than ever with everything our world is going through now ("Chris Jason's Songs...").

Chris Jason uses emotion, imagery, and logic throughout the lyrics and the music video to help get his point across to many people around the world. He wanted this to be a message to fathers to be nice to their daughters and by using pathos, ethos, and logos, I believe he got his point across.

Lyric Analysis-Ethos with a little bit of Logos

Chris Jason uses a variety of examples of Ethos throughout the lyrics, especially in the beginning. In the beginning he is describing her as a person when he says "Couple of cover charge stamps got her hand looking like a rainbow/In and out of every bar on a whim just like the wind blows she's either a bachelorette or coming off a breakup." This part of the song is specifically Ethos because it is telling you what type of girl this "Drunk Girl" really is by saying that she is a pretty girl bar hopping and letting herself go,bar stamps on her hand. More Ethos lyrics are when he says, "Singing every word she never knew/Dancing with her eyes closed like she's the only one in the room/Her hairs a perfect mess, falling out of that dress." This shows that shes probably getting over something and is a little broken inside trying to let go of everything including her life. There are not very many logos but there are a few I found in this section of the song. "They're singing closing time at that little bar across the street, this is very literal because she has been out all light and they are literally singing closing time at the bar she is at. "Then two by two strangers and lovers headed for the covers hooking up. That TV in your two bedroom sounds turned off, Through the paper thin walls you can hear the neighbor's cigarette cough," this section of lyrics are describing what this girl is hearing.

Lyric Analysis-Pathos

The lyrics of this song are flooded with Pathos, especially in the chorus of the song: "Take a drunk girl home/Let her sleep all alone/Leave her keys on the counter your number by the phone." This is giving you right away an appeal to emotion. and it continues by saying "Pick up her life she threw on the floor/Leave the hall lights on walk out and lock the door." Saying this shows that she's going threw some rough times and was shown some well needed kindness. Chris Jason ends the chorus by saying "That's how you know the difference in a boy and man." showing the purpose for saying everything he is trying to appealing to everybody. He is trying to get guys to feel guilty and to think a little harder before taking a girl home. "In the sober light of dawn/she left you a message she thanked you on the phone/cause you picked up her life she threw on the floor," appeals to emotion because its saying when you do something good you get rewarded.
