Social inequality refers to the unequal distribution of opportunities, resources and the like amongst different members of society. Members of a society get access to these opportunities and resources for a variety of reason, including level of education, wealth, and where they live.

Social inequality looks at the unequal distribution of opportunities amongst different groups within our society. Opportunities arise for a number of reasons these include our age, gender, experience and education. Not all people are on the same level, groups who are in lower levels are often less likely to receive a lot of opportunities, while people who are able to afford an education and receive experience have a much higher chance to receive opportunities. This creates social inequality.
