I think the Trump-Putin summit in Alaska is kind of important because at least they’re trying to talk things out it’s good that USA and Russia meet but at the same time I feel like it could just be more about looking good than actually solving problems hopefully it leads to something real and not just a photo op.

Topic: Globalization in Daily Life

This week we talked about globalization in class. I notice that it is around me every day, even if I don’t think about it. For example, my phone was designed in the U.S., made in China, and I bought it here in Mexico. The apps I use are also from many places. TikTok is from China, Instagram is American, and WhatsApp is used all over the world.

Globalization gives me many good things. I can use technology, eat food from other countries, and see news or videos from people very far away. But I also see problems. The workers who make my phone maybe don’t earn much money, and big companies get most of the profit. That is not fair, and it makes me think about inequality that we learned in class.

I also see globalization in culture. In my town, people go a lot to McDonald’s or KFC, and sometimes local restaurants are not so popular. I like trying food from other countries, but I feel a little sad that local food and traditions are less strong now.

When I think about this, I understand globalization is not only about trade or politics. It is in my normal life. It helps me in many ways, but it also has costs. I still ask myself: how can we keep the good things of globalization without hurting workers or losing our culture?
