E: Education has became a medium for propaganda for e.g student are forced to sing the japanese anthem and change the education content to make the japanese sound strong and mighty and pretty much gave them a good look to show that them taking over is more of a good thing. It was an act to influence people but the Japanese were mainly targeting the children as they were easier to get influenced by the Japanese propaganda.
E: Some of the things the Japanese did to change the education life in Singapore was that they forced the people of syonan-to to learn Japanese as their main language and they also forced some teenagers to leave their school to join a Japanese school.
L: As a result, research shows that the Japanese made children had to learn the Japanese Anthem and were forced to learn their language and was also influenced and 'Brainwashed' to think they were good. Finding food was foremost in the minds of many.   
E: At the start of Japanese Occupation,the military administration seized all the supplies and essentials like sugar, rice, salt and cloth from the warehouses and shops. The cessation of imports during the war also contributed heavily to the shortage of food.
E: There was a system called "Food rationing", which was introduced to control food and other necessary items. Only those issued with ration cards or tickets were allowed to queue at designated distribution points. Not only that, there were also "Grow more food campaign" where every man of age 18 to 50 years old must become farmers.
L: In conclusion, the Japanese tried to make people find their own food and gain more food supplies.But turns out, it did not help people to have enough food in the end.

E: The Japanese started creating a new currency called banana money which was quite useless. The Banana money was also considered as one of the Japanese's invasion money.  Another change that happened was high unemployment rate.
E: The reason for high unemployment rate was due to many factories, companies, etc firing their workers as there was low budget due to the war so to save cost. People also did not want to find a job as they were not willing use their money especially when the cost of goods such as food were priced much higher.

E:The Japanese changed entertainment and most of it is now propaganda. Magazines and movies were filled with positive and how great and superior the Japanese are. They also changed amusement parks which was a popular entertainment that time.
E:Propaganda magazines and films were used so to influence the people to join the Japanese and not controlled under the British so the Japanese can rule Syonan-to. Amusement parks were changed to gambling dens to attract gamblers who fed into the Japanese effort to derive revenue from tax and licence fees of gambling farms

Although after the British came back things were still difficult especially in the working conditions.
