Only a Roman citizen would have three names. A slave only has one name. Caecilius' wife, Metella, had an important role in her home. She was responsible for the efficient and economical management oh the household. She supervised the work of the slaves. Caecilius' house had spaces on the sides of the doors that were shops that he owned. The house had very few windows and no front yard. The main entrance to the house was on the side facing the street. On passing through the door, the ianua, the visitor came into a short corridor which led to the main room, the atrium. The roof sloped down slightly in the middle towards a large square opening called the compluvium. Air and light streamed through the opening, high overhead. Below, was the was the impluvium, a marble-lined, shallow rectangular pool that collected rainwater. Metella est mater.  
Metella is the mother.
canis est in villa.
The dog is in the street.


In other Latin sentences, the order is usually different from that of English.For example:
canis in via dormit.
The dog is sleeping in the street.
servus in culina laborat.
The slave is working in the kitchen.

The only thing you left out were the summaries of the stories and the sentence translations, but that's ok. We didn't get to finish. Culture is above and beyond and you did a great job summarizing grammar.

You guys did not follow all formatting directions, which makes it a little difficult to grade. Next time plz title and write your descriptions as I ask you to! Because this was so above and beyond in so many ways...
