○ Reason:
     The United States have put the sanctions on Syria in order to deprive their authoritarian government of the resources it needs to continue violence against civilians and also to pressure pressure the Syrian government to allow for a democratic transition as the Syrian people demand.
○ Effects on Syria:
   The limit on trade impacted Syria, obviously, by reducing trade. This could potentially impact the country's economic growth and overall development. Also Syrian businesses would have a harder time accessing loans. 
   This sanction also impacts a big part of Syria's revenue, oil. This limits their energy production and total revenue. The sanction would also affect the common people of Syria. The sanction could potentially limit their access to a lot of essential things such as food or medicine. 
   Overall, these impacts lead to economic instability and a decrease in the Syrian people's standard of living.

    The United States' embargo on Cuba began on February 3, 1962
○ Reason for economic sanction/embargo
   There were a series of events which eventually led to the embargo on Cuba. The main reason is because of the nationalization of American-owned properties by the Cuban government. The United States put the embargo into effect with the goal of pressuring Cuba into transition to a democratic country and to improve the human rights situation in Cuba.
○ Effects of economic sanction/embargo
   The embargo had big impacts on Cuba's economy and politics. 
   Cuba has gone through some significant problems with their economy. The embargo has significantly limited Cuba's access to the United States' markets and financing which makes it hard for them to access modern technologies and goods. This bad relationship also makes it harder for them to participate in international trade. This obviously results in much less development for the country as a whole.
   The embargo has also had negative effects on the people in  Cuba. It has limited Cuba's access to medicine, which is a big problem in Cuba since they have some problems in providing proper healthcare to its citizens.    The economic sanction on Iran began in 1979. This was just the beginning because over the years, more sanctions were signed into law.

   The sanctions on Iran were mainly in response to concerns about Iran's nuclear program. Some other reasons include Iran's support for terrorism and human rights abuses.
○ Effects of economic sanction/embargo
   The sanctions were targeting Iran's major economic sectors such as energy and trade. The limit on Iran's ability to have international trade has resulted in less economic growth and increased inflation. The inflation and other financial challenges has affected the standard of living for many Iranian citizens, it has limited their access to education, and also caused financial insecurity. The sanctions have also limited Iran's ability to export oil which is a major loss for an oil-dependent economy. The economic sanctions have also limited Iran's ability to import essential goods such as medicine and medical aid which affected the healthcare services for the Iranian citizens. Healthcare isn't as available or affordable in Iran than it could've been.

Conflicts between the two countries date back all the way to 2014. The effects of Russia's 2022 invasion on the people and country of Ukraine were devastating.
Effect- Because of the Russian invasion there were a wide range of related sanctions put on Russia, in efforts to hurt their economy. The sanctions were put in place to hurt corporations like big banks and businesses, the bank transfers, imports, and exports. More specifically, the sanctions cut off Russians banks from SWIFT (Society for Worldwide International Telecommunications). Sanctions also froze the Russian Central Bank which help 630 billion. Korea was annexed by Japan in 1910 for the sake of imperialism, and the Japanese Government divided Korea in half with the more mountainous and resource rich North being industrialized while the arable south had farming infrastructure. However at the end of WW2, Korea was split between the industrial North and the Farming South with plans for reunification. 

However North Korea soon invaded the South causing the Korean War. The Korean War then stalemated leading to no victor. Both countries were beginning to prosper until the collapse of the Soviet Union and thus lowering North Korean Food Imports, but due to Juche, North Korea had no option other than grow their own food becoming a vaguely feudal kingdom.

Sanction:
The first sanctions started in 1950 due the Korean War under the aptly named "Trading with the Enemy Act of 1917."    The sanctions imposed on Crimea began in 2014.
○ Reason for economic sanction/embargo
   The United States imposed these sanctions on Crimea in response to Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014. This is because the annexation of Crimea was seen as a violation of Ukraine's authority and territory. The United States and other countries disapproved of this.
○ Effects of economic sanction/embargo
   The sanctions have limited economic activities in Crimea.  The restriction in trade has negatively impacted the local economy not just by slowing down economic growth but potentially causing the economy to shrink. The sanctions have also increased tension between the United States and Russia. In short, the standard of living has decreased among the innocent citizens that live in the region, the economy has been negatively impacted by the creation of more economic challenges, and increased tension between countries.
