E-mail is a very versatile medium which allows for the use of many formats. However, many marketers can abuse this form of direct marketing by "spamming" consumers.

Some of the advantages of E-mail marketing include lower costs, increased sales and being able to track the success of your campaign.

As previously established, spam is a significant drawback of e-mail marketing. Companies that regularly spam their customers could be reported and their site may be shut down. Consumers who receive spam emails may form a negative opinion about the sender.

Many retailers (i.e. Matalan) utilise e-mail marketing to advertise their latest clothing lines and attract customers with different promotions.

With many different types of social media to use, Facebook is the most used worldwide.
Facebook can be used in an advertising format which is able to be analysed at all times, meaning if it is not gaining enough click rates they can simply take it down.
Other kinds of social media may be Snapchat which has grown significantly, they are able to promote brands through their stories and now even include news for the consumer to keep updates with. There had been many brands who have used snapchat stories to promote themselfs, like with Arnold Schwarzenegger and his "Arnold classic" competition which was able to generate millions of views and helped to promote the brand.

Virtual Reality is a computer simulated environment that is used to simulate the the users physical presence into the real or imaginary worlds (Gupta 2015). Virtual reality can create experiences based on senses such as sight, and sound.

Virtual reality can be used in marketing and more specifically content marketing. Marketers can offer customers a tangible experience by getting them as close to the real thing with out being physically present (Talks 2015).

Examples include the jaguar campaign where they created an experience to allow fans to 'fly' into centre court and 'feel' what it would be like to face andy murray. This was to promote Jaguars position as the official car of the wimbledon championships (Stott 2016).

Google Glass takes the shape of a pair of eye-glasses to allow for a hands-free smartphone experience. The internet can be accessed and controlled on the screen by voice activation.

The varied features used in Google Glass all make for the streamline use of the device. Located on the side of the headset is a touch pad that acts like the screen of a touch phone. Users are able to scroll through feeds and timelines just as they would on a phone, this can also be used to look through trivial things such as past phone calls made and the weather.

This piece of technology can be used as a streamlined marketing tool, tailored to specifically targeting its user. The headpiece would be an extremely personal item for its user as the programmes are specific to their needs, this allows marketers easier access to their target.

m
