 A Dermatologist is a Medical Doctor who treats illnesses related to the skin, nails, and hair.

 Dermatologists use diagnostic tests like biopsies in order to identify diseases. Many times Dermatologists may have to remove skin if there are any abnormal lesions or findings.

As for any M.D they are responsible for prescribing and giving patients there medication.

In order to become a Dermatologist you need a pre- medical undergraduate degree. 

A pre-med undergraduate degree can be any Bachelor of Science degree :courses in physics, biology and chemistry, as well as organic chemistry and either calculus or statistics, or both. 

After you obtain your Bachelors of Science degree, a year before you graduate you must take the MCAT( Medical College Admission Test) in order to get into your desired Medical School

. A Dermatologist must next complete a Doctoral Degree in Medicine ;this takes an additional four years after earning your Bachelor's Degree. 

Medical school graduates must spend one year's internship in general medical practice, before completing a three-year residency in dermatology.

 After completing the residency program Dermatologists must complete board examinations and be certified as a Dermatologist.

During there third year in college they should start to prepare for MCAT.

Entry Level:  Graduating from Medical School you must go into a residency program. This is where you get an internship. You will be in the position for 4 years.

Median: After completing the residency program. You must take Board Certification Test to become a Licensed Dermatologist.

Complete a fellowship, This additional training can provide you with more experience in patient care and research, and it also can allow you to focus on a specialty, such as pediatric dermatology, procedural dermatology, clinical research or dermatopathology. After completing your fellowship, you might pursue specialty certification. 

Advanced Position: A licensed Dermatologist and you can open your own practice , work in a hospital, or clinics.
