- New toxins and allergens in food, which would lead to a potential risk of allergy.
- The dissemination of genes resistant to antibiotics that lead to a lower efficacy of certain drugs.
- Increased use of chemicals on plants with increased contamination of water and food.
- The emergence of resistant to genetically modified herbicides, which could invade the fields replacing traditional plants less "competitive".
- The dissemination of diseases through barriers between species.
- The loss of crop biodiversity.
- The disturbance of the ecological balance.
- The transfer to future generations of artificially induced characteristics with inevitable imperfections.
