This is a book of pure adventure and was very fun to read. I found this book very easy to understand and had just enough information to keep me forever wondering, "Whats going to happen next?" Throughout the entire Redwall series the author expresses the work of friendship, and teamwork and "The Taggerung" is no exception.
At first a baby otter pup is separated from his loving family at Redwall Abbey and is taken and raised by vermin so that he can make THEIR tribe proud. (This otter is marked as Taggerung which is a born warrior. The vermin tribe that has a Taggerung will be VERY powerful.) Later in life Tagg, the former baby otter, has been transformed with tattoos and is the best fighter his vermin family's tribe has seen in a while. But somehow, Tagg feels out of place and refuses too kill anyone. This is a story of friendship and trust as Tagg makes his way back to Redwall to what is left of his long lost family.
My favorite character is Mhera, Tagg's long lost sister, who has lived her life beleiving her baby brother died after being taken by vermin. She is very kind, and is always willing to help others inside and outside the Abbey.
I would recommend this book for anybody who is looking for a adventurous book to keep their mind away from real life. Overall I would give this book, and all other Redwalls, a definite 5 star rating for all of the creative adventures all the creatures of Redwall Abbey go through. I am so glad that this book was recommended for me and I am sure all other readers will be too!

Along with all other Redwall books, "Triss" takes you on an adventure you will never forget. It all starts out at the feared palace of Riftgaurd. Triss is a slave and must escape the terrible prison. So she hatches a plan and is able to escape with two friends. She swears to come back and free her fellow slaves once she has a bigger army. Meanwhile a young badger and mountain hare leave their family in the awesome mountain of Salamandastron. They go on the adventure of their life along with a sea otter who they become best friends with. While other adventures are being had the leaders of Riftgaurd are intent on hunting down the slaves that have escaped and also get back a crown they lost long ago. (It was lost near Redwall Abbey). Redwallers are now nervous because they have found that their is a three headed serpent in the forest nearby. In the end Triss, and her friend, the badger, hare and otter, along with all Redwallers are on a mission to rid the forest of the serpents and fend off all unwanted vermin visitors. This is a book of pure imagination where friends must come together, cry together and fight together for what is right for them and all other creatures, including all poor slaves at Riftgaurd. This is a great book for people interested in adventure, that are looking for an escape from life itself. So go on the journey with Brain Jacques and find your inner adventure while reading "Triss" of Redwall!
