The strong vocabulary word to me that the author incorporated was " desolate wasteland". I feel like the author good have easily said the empty desert, but when you use higher vocabulary it gives you a strong vision of the story and the setting.

I think that this poem gives a very silent mood and feeling. When it says "No more Messengers" it feels like a very dark line and it seems kind of sad. It also makes you get that cold shiver down your spine. I think the author wrote this short poem because it really gets the reader thinking about many different feelings and possibilities.
