Definition: A strength or energy being caused of physical movement.

This was seen in the speedster car activity when the car that the partners made was pushed by the pendulum. This is because the pendulum was a moving object and it hit the car so that it could also move. This connects back to Newtons First Law because the law contains unbalanced force and without force there wouldn't be unbalanced force.

Definition: Mass is a measure of inertia

This was seen in the tablecloth lab since the tablecloth was also the example of inertia. So if the object stayed at rest so did the measure of inertia. This relates to Newtons First Law because the objects on the table at rest remained at rest while the tablecloth got taken away.

This relates to Newtons First Law because it was in motion just like the Law states "...motion at a constant speed...".

Definition: An object that is not moving is said to be at rest.

This was seen in the marker and ring lab because when the person knocked the marker in to the jar, it remained at rest. The relationship in Newtons First Law and the lab is when the law states "An object at rest remains at rest..." and this shows the relationship because the marker also stayed at rest.

Definition: The tendency of an object to resist being moved or, if the object is moving, to resist a change in speed or direction until an outside force acts on the object.

This was seen in the tablecloth lab because when we would take the tablecloth away from the table, it would stay on the table. This connects back to Newtons First Law because the law states "An object at rest remains at rest..." and this shows that when the objects were staying at rest, taking away the tablecloth would keep it at rest if you did it right.

This was made by on classroom pulling while the other classroom didn't have enough force to keeping pulling so it looked like they were pushing. This connects back to Newtons First Law because it is explaining the unbalanced part of the law.

Definition: An equal magnitude of opposite direction.

This was seen in the tug of war lab because when each class was pulling on opposite directions, it was balanced force. The balanced force was because the two classrooms had an equal amount of force at the time. This relates back to Newtons First Law because it remains at a constant speed like the law states.
