Bionic arm-Using artificial materials and methods to produce activity or movement in a person or animal: a bionic arm/leg. humorous used to refer to a person who has greater powers of strength, speed, etc. than seem to be possible for a human: a bionic man/woman.

Scaffolding-A temporary structure on the outside of a building, made of wooden planks and metal poles, used by workmen while building, repairing, or cleaning the building.

Scissor lifts-The electric- or gas-powered platform that is mounted on folding arms is used to provide elevated work areas or to help raise or lower unit loads. The objective is to access difficult-to-reach areas in order to perform whatever work is required. Scissor liftsprovide a mobile means of reaching areas that are very high.

Cherry pickers-A hydraulic crane with a railed platform at the end for raising and lowering people, for instance to work on overhead cables.

Half-backers- They say it makes the city colourful and funky.

Half-haters- They say it makes the city look bad/Not interesting.

The new life in the country is great. I love looking round at the plants and wildlife trying to guess what they are called and if they are a weed or a seedling. I love the surrounding animals. Can we maybe move here? Bye, hope to see you soon

Alice was born on the 19th of February and she saw a bird and she thinks it was a 130 cm blue bird with dark green legs and the first time she saw it she thought it was a takahe but it wasn't they are extinct

 All the citizens did it. 

I am quite enjoying myself out here in the country. The family I am staying with are called Mr and Mrs Woods, and they have another daughter called Hazel. They also have a lot of animals, they own the biggest farm for miles! There are cows, sheep, horses, cats, and dogs! Some of the cows are having calves, the sheep are having lambs, and the horses are having foals. The baby animals are so cute! It’s so fun to watch them running around outside. The cat had kittens as well, and I get to have one of them!

Yesterday we went shopping, I got new shoes, they nearly go up to my knees. They are called gumboots, and they are special shoes for the farm. They help keep out the water as well. I also got clothes for the farm.

It also rains a lot here! I had to get a new rain jacket as well, and some waterproof trousers as well! I get to share a room with Hazel, and I help her in the mornings with her jobs on the farm. We get up at six o’clock in the morning, and go to bed at eight o’clock in the afternoon. We go to school from nine o’clock in the morning to three o’clock in the afternoon. The lessons are really fun, and I met some other children that were evacuated as well!

How are you at home? Have there been anymore air raids? Has anything happened to anyone we know? I hope you are all right and you get this letter! I miss you so much, and I am waiting eagerly for your letter. Miss you!
