Brugge is a sustainable town as they implied to work on a sustainable chocolate chain. They have joined forces with a local African cocoa farm in Ebolowa.

Deforestation, child labour, low wages and poor working conditions bring pressure to bear on the chocolate sector. As a local government, Brugge supports the transition to more sustainable chocolate.

In Brugge, there is a sign which can be seen at the doors of the chocolatiers who only produce local artesanal chocolates. This invites consumers to purchase sustainable chocolates and I am one of them. 😊🍫

Diversified Architecture in Bruges

This historic centre of Bruges preserves the gothic forms that were a major part of the city architecture. It also holds the trials of how trade has played a role in architecture. The brick gothic architecture was the style of northern Europe. In the 19th century, a Neo-gothic style was developed as a part of a process in restoring the historic buildings of Bruges. Nowadays there are still traces of diversity architectural buildings in Bruges.  It’s known as the North Venice of Europe and indeed it’s a magical town to explore.
