EXAMPLE: From 12 to 1, from 1 to 2, from 2 to 3, etc.
- When the larger hand, also known as the "hour hand,"  strikes "12," this signifies the beginning of a new hour. EXAMPLE: If the shorter hand, also known as the "minute hand," is on the 4 and the "hour hand" is on he 12, the time is 4:00.
- When the "hour hand" strikes 6, the signifies half of the hour has passed. EXAMPLE: If the "hour hand" is on the 6 and the "minute hand" is on the 11, the time is 11:30.
- The numbers on the analog clock are defined in intervals of 5, and the little marks in between are each one individual minute. EXAMPLE: If the "minute hand" is on the 7 and the "hour hand" is on the 1, the time is 7:05. If the "hour hand" moves one mark away from the 1, the time is 7:06, and so on.
