Real world challenges are everywhere but not typically in textbooks or standardised curriculum. They are however, in the news, industries and our local communities and all around us. Children should be encouraged to participate in experiential learning (learning through experience and doing). However, in order for this to become effective we must ensure that the children are physically involved. For example, if our learners were learning about trees during winter, it is far more effective to let the children actually experience and explore this, rather than showing them a PowerPoint inside the classroom that  relates to the topic.
