Belgium took over Congo in 1906 because they wanted their copper diamonds and coal. 

Belgium took them over with brutality and weapons 

Belgium treated them terrible by beating them and using them as sex slaves.

An African group known as ABAKO thought that this plan was not going to bring success and decided to fight against it, believing that it would create more issues.

ABAKO led riots against them.
