Age:  Started to write at seventeen -  1998 – she was 21 – when she wrote 7 methods…

Family Background: born in North London , Jamaican Background

Motivation for writing the play: She wanted to write about friendships/the internet. She likes to make feel theatre personal and casual and likes the internet for making people feel connected. She likes to write something relatable for people who don’t like the theatre is for them (like Netflix). Her own experiences with racism and exclusion are also a reason that motivates her.  Cultural appropriation is also a big topic for her.

Ideals: Theatre should open for everyone and should include different voices. Theatre is not only for classic play like Shakespeare.

Personal experience: She was supported by theatre but also rejected on times. Often felt unwelcome because she ignored.  She was feeling invisible as the only black woman in theatre scene. She knows both sides – she is also an actor not only a write.

Other information: Connection to language – through working in theatre she can work with language a lot.
