The North Korea Crisis took place from 2016 - 18 but is still an ongoing threat today. The North Korea Crisis was a time of tension between the US and North Korea. It started when North Korea began nuclear and missile testing. North Korea proclaimed that its missile and nuclear tests are necessary to defend itself against a possible U.S. Invasion. These missiles are causing huge commotion because North Korea has proved that the missiles may be able to reach the U.S.
---------------------
U.S Role

"U.S. military involvement in the Korean peninsula has its roots in the Korean War of the early 1950s during the early stages of the Cold War, in which the United States supported forces in the southern part of the peninsula against communist forces in the north, who were aided militarily by China and the Soviet Union. Today, the United States is committed to defending South Korea under the terms of the Mutual Defense Treaty between the United States and South Korea. " The U.S has supported South Korea because the U.S and South Korea have some of the same values Democratic, free government. While the Soviets were in support of North Korea because they both believe in authoritarian dictatorship governments. I believe that since the U.S has always been on South Korea's side it has caused them a lot of tension with North Korea. The U.S currently has 29,000 troops on the border of South Korea to help in case of any attacks from North Korea this may also be causing the tension between the North and the U.S. The United States, South Korea, and Japan have each passed their own boycotts against North Korea, targeting companies involved in North Korean missile and nuclear weapons development, high-ranking individuals, and sources of income for the North Korean government.

North Korea has a number of missiles, thermonuclear bombs, and war supplies. The South Korean government proclaims that North Korea may have largest stockpile of chemical weapons in the world. North Korea shows rapid advancement of military technology. This article proves that America should just lay low and be sure not to anger North Korea and just keep the peace between them so that they cannot pull anything. With the artillery that North Korea has right it does not seem safe to try to take action with North Korea because it could lead to a war or North Korea launching missile targets staright for the U.S and hit major cite killing hundreds of thousands. America should just keep quiet and look for other souldtions.

The North Korean crisis is important because launching their missiles so close to the border of Americans is a way of showing America what they are capable of. "North Korea is a nuclear power with a complex relationship with China, and preventing both an interstate Korean war and a North Korean internal collapse are critical U.S. national security interests. Along with continued weapons and missile tests, small-scale military and cyber provocations by North Korea pose significant risks as each incident carries with it the potential for further and potentially uncontrollable escalation. Outright threats from North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un are also causing concern, as he claims that North Korean weapons can now reach U.S. territories and even the U.S. mainland." It is important because it can be unpredictable and the U.S knows that they are one of North Korea's targets and that could cause a lot of damage.

American citizens should be aware of this conflict because North Korea has a mind of its own and no one can ever tell what Kim Jong-un is thinking. Americans should be aware and learn about North Korea's Power and the fact that can strike at any time.
------------------
What role should America have in this conflict?

The Role America has now is the safest role they can take because they should not do something to anger North Korea but also demonstrate how they feel and what America is going to do about it.
-------------------
Future predictions

I predict in the Future that North Korea will keep building but may not launch anytime soon since there are no disagreements or conflicts between the U.S and North Korea currently. But there may be a time in the far away future where I believe that North Korea will launch Missles major American cities and target major American Allies.
