- Visiting times - they are deprived from seeing their family so they may want more visiting times.
- Health services - if they feel they are inadequate

- Rotations of staff and prisoners to make sure groups get equal activity time.
- Working out more violent and problematic prisoners to put them with the more experienced staff to prevent riots as much as possible.
- Longer term - start volunteering positions (like the specials for the police) in order to increase staff numbers.

- His mum was being treated for PND.
- He didn't have a father figure
- His step-father was violent when he was drunk
- Car accident was a traumatic experience.
- Started smoking cannabis at 13, and did ecstasy and amphetamines
- Didn't finish school so had no qualifications.
- He drank a lot which affected his temper

- Can possibly talk to John about giving him his medications and water.
- Warm jumpers
- Move away from the wall to increase safety
- Work and education opportunities

Isolated away from family and friends – not being put in community prisons being put in to different cities – leading to isolation and becoming a big issue.
2. Segregation is wrong – put with other types of criminals – this could expand on criminality knowledge and also boost confidence of other criminals.
3. No rehabilitation.
