Today's PD was a good start.
Where do you want to go?
I want to start implement some of the strategies that I learned today such as survey student emotions, identifying the barriers that keep them disinterested, then find solutions to remove those barriers.
What supports do you need?
Can TOSA create a list of successful strategies that other teachers have used to remove barriers to student learning? How do I create an emotional survey for students? Teachers need more time to collaborate on UDL lesson design. Can we have more frequent UDL training/PDs?

I am still learning the process of UDL. Today's PD was very helpful in reflecting what UDL is.

My goal is to optimize student choice in the classroom so students may feel empowered to show what they know in a more creative way. This definitely can help students engage in learning and practice student agency.

One of the things I struggle with is giving think time during discussions. That is something I will work on.

Collaboration with my team is something I value. It's wonderful that coaches are there to provide support as well.

Though I feel I have some personalization with my lessons, I am in the beginning stages of understanding UDL and the implementations with my students. It is a good reminder of how to reach all my students in a personalized way. I wish to continue on the path to understanding to give more choices to my students and have it student led instead of teacher owned. Collaboration with my team is helpful in bouncing ideas and finding the support with Coaches to lesson plan would be great too.

I'm currently at the beginning of my journey. I feel like I've gotten some of the low-hanging fruit, but I need to push to start developing more learner agency (instead of things being so teacher-directed). I also find it much easier to give options for an end product, so I would like to expand my ability to give students more options for their learning input. It would be helpful to have learning walks with upper-grade teachers from other sites, followed by sit-down conversations with the teachers involved.

I'm in the dive in and fumble around stage. I've been sitting back and watching, trying to understand UDL and now I've jumped in. I realize some things I already did were "UDL" (flexible seating) and I've tried some new things (let kids choose how to work and what to work on during language arts). I like what I've done so far and am expanding it out more. The UDL swag is a good resource, and Renee has come in and helped me out some too! I just need more time to play and try things. I'll be ready to talk more with others too.

I am still at the beginning of my journey and just started this school year.
I want to be able to design each lesson to reflect the rubric and becoming a master in becoming an expert and fostering the expert student.
I feel that I could use more time to plan lesson options with my grade level team. Like a day or half day to plan and really build on the information.
Thanks!
