I'm  a novice. Today's PD was a good start.
Where do you want to go?
I want to start implement some of the strategies that I learned today such as survey student emotions, identifying the barriers that keep them disinterested, then find solutions to remove those barriers.
What supports do you need?
Can TOSA create a list of successful strategies that other teachers have used to remove barriers to student learning? How do I create an emotional survey for students? Teachers need more time to collaborate on UDL lesson design. Can we have more frequent UDL training/PDs?

My goal is to optimize student choice in the classroom so students may feel empowered to show what they know in a more creative way. This definitely can help students engage in learning and practice student agency.

One of the things I struggle with is giving think time during discussions. That is something I will work on. 

Collaboration with my team is something I value. I feel like I've gotten some of the low-hanging fruit, but I need to push to start developing more learner agency (instead of things being so teacher-directed). I also find it much easier to give options for an end product, so I would like to expand my ability to give students more options for their learning input. I've been sitting back and watching, trying to understand UDL and now I've jumped in. I realize some things I already did were "UDL" (flexible seating) and I've tried some new things (let kids choose how to work and what to work on during language arts). I like what I've done so far and am expanding it out more. The UDL swag is a good resource, and Renee has come in and helped me out some too! I just need more time to play and try things. I am still at the beginning of my journey and just started this school year. 
I want to be able to design each lesson to reflect the rubric and becoming a master in becoming an expert and fostering the expert student. 
I feel that I could use more time to plan lesson options with my grade level team. Like a day or half day to plan and really build on the information.
