Have thick walls to compensate.</p></li><li><p><strong>Arterioles</strong>: Smaller diameter than arteries, carry blood into capillaries. </p></li><li><p><strong>Capillaries</strong>: Where exchange occurs. Form capillary beds to increase surface area for this exchange.</p></li><li><p><strong>Venules</strong>: Retrieve blood from capillaries. </p></li><li><p><strong>Veins</strong>: Return blood to the heart. They have the biggest diameter of the vessels and contain the lowest blood pressure. Can store blood with the help of valves. </p></li></ol>]]></description>
