Community service learning means both giving back to the community and learning more in depth about your community at the same time. In this poster, it displays women teaching people within their communities how to sew. Housing costs were high at that time and this was one way to cut costs. The women had a great turnout and most likely learned the stories of people within their community that attended.

Leadership means taking initiative and being brave enough to pave a path for others to follow. It means communicating well to all team members, treating people fairly, and getting their team through a shared hardship. In my opinion, Captain America represents all of these traits and more. As the leader of the Avengers, he constantly is putting out fires, paving the way and communicating each superheroes duties during fights. Also, the fact that this stamp was made to commemorate superheroes for inspiring people to make a difference is a demonstration of leadership and influencing others in itself.

The "Community Building In a Diverse Society" pillar means coming together no matter your race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, background, gender identity, etc. This photo specifically depicts a Catholic procession, which became a street festival, in an Italian American Catholic community. These street festivals were essential for bringing people together and boosting morale during the Great Depression. Though this community has similar ethnicities and religious affiliations, each person has a different past, story and skills. They bring these skills to the fair and the whole community bolsters.

Scholarship by dictionary definition means high academic achievement. This photo not only represents a group of high-achieving scholars attending Oxford University but also specifically highlights James Smith. James wrote his name in Latin and used his mother's last name instead of his father's. Personally, it means a lot to see a presumably single mother raise a highly successful child. It's an achievement in itself, further contributing to the Scholarship Pillar's underlying meaning of high achievement.

Citizenship has multiple meanings to me. Though a more basic demonstration of this pillar would be voting, I believe it's every citizen's responsibility to work for the betterment of their country. These protestors are fighting to bring the troops home and protect citizens in both their and, most likely, the afflicted county as well.
