The concurrent fall in demand and increase in supply would reinforce each other to cause a sharper fall in equilibrium price. However, the effect on equilibrium quantity is indeterminate as it depends on the relative extent of changes in demand and supply. If the fall in demand is greater than the increase in supply, equilibrium quantity will fall. On the other hand, if the fall in demand is smaller than the increase in supply, equilibrium quantity will rise.

The demand curve will shift leftwards due to a decrease in demand, ceteris paribus. The supply curve will shift rightwards due to an increase in supply.
The shift in demand will be in a larger extent than the shift in supply.
As there are more and more coffee drinkers in the market, most of them will drink robusca as a start of their coffee drinking life, the demands of arabica will decrease. Major companies which represents arabica beans population size, as they are the main people who requires arabica beans for blending, thus when this companies change the beans to robusca, there will be a large decrease in demand, as the amount of beans they used are much more than what an individual will use. Thus even though there is an increase in supply, major companies which dont uses them anymore, will caused farmers to have many arabica beans which previously used by the major companies."Vietnam has gone from growing almost nothing a decade ago to producing 25m bags of robusta beans a year today. The result is an oversupply of coffee" To add on there is already a large surplus of coffee beans, thus further affecting arabica beans farmers. Thus demand curve will shift at a larger extent than supply curve.

As stated in the text"Many Brazilian and Colombian farmers invested to boost production of arabica in response to the high prices of 2011", farmers though there was a large demand in arabica coffee after earning higher total revenue, this have resulted them in investing in the technologies to increase production of coffee beans, however they didn't expect demand to decrease after a few years. Thus, farmer are facing a problem as they have increased the production of coffee beans, resulting an increase in supply of arabica beans, ceteris paribus.

"And good weather in Brazil means that this year's crop has turned out to be unexpectedly large" , with a good weather, which meant that was a high crop yield, as most of crops were harvested, not much of the crops were destroyed, as a result supply of arabica beans will increase, ceteris paribus.

"They have taken to blending cheaper robusta beans into their products to maintain their margins" Major big food company like Nestle, arabica coffee users, have mixed robusca beans into their blend, to increase their profit, as robusca is cheaper than arabica. As a result of a substitute, which is good which satisfy similar needs or desire at a lower price. More people will opt for robusca which is a cheaper option, thus demand of arabica beans will decrease, ceteris paribus
