I think that the village will not be able to sustain very long as recently, a lot of money was lost due to the sudden mass fishes death. The area is also undergoing a lot of developments so the area for fishing is getting smaller and smaller. However, i feel that it is worth saving as this village has been the home for people of many generations. I feel that if the whole village can work together and keep the village clean and keep to the 2+1 domestic waste collection schedule plan, they might be able to sustain the village.

I think that the village will not be able to sustain its distinctive characteristics. The people living in the village lack a proper disposal of waste and throw rubbish into the water which causes pollution. Many tourists don't feel safe with consuming seafood that came from polluted waters and therefore, they stopped visiting Kukup.

I think that the village will not be able to sustain its distinctive characteristics due to pollution. After the new regulation was instilled in 2018, many of the local people began facing trouble to dispose of their rubbish. Under the regulation, the people have to hire a licensed waste collector to dispose of their waste. However, the people not abiding by this regulation and disposing of their rubbish incorrectly can lead to pollution

However, the village can sustain the characteristics if the people work together to make a change. If majority of the people abide by this new regulation and dispose of their waste properly, they will be able to prevent pollution. If majority of the people argue that the regulation should be changed, the government can tweak the regulation to make it easier for the people to dispose of their waste since they have been facing difficulties with it

No, it is important that Kukup becomes more developed so that tourists continue to come in. To be able to attract tourists, we have to build more resorts. In order to build these resorts, we have to get rid of fisheries, leaving little space for fishermen to rear their fishes. Kukup loses its rustic charm as a fishing village to make way for tourism. However, when the tourists come, they generate revenue for the government through ferry services and when the tourists shop at local shops for souveniers. The only distinct feature that has hope of lasting are the local dried products (made from seafood). Even so, with the pandemic, Kukup experieneced the movement control order which resulted in the loss of tourists. Kukup will have a hard time trying to cope with the loss of tourists as they rely on them to buy their products and provide the locals with jobs.

I think they can sustain their buildings and houses that are built above water as it is distinctive and a special feature of the village.

But I also think that kukup may not sustain the distinctive characteristics as they mainly fish for a living. since there are so many fishermen, there might be not enough fish for the fishermen to fish. This will affect their business of selling fish and their incomes might be affected. also, they eat fish for survival so they might not have enough fish to eat. this might also affect their health.

During the holidays, the population is boosted by hoardes of tourists from other parts of Malaysia and from nearby Singapore who come to savour the fresh seafood, stay in one of the holiday chalets and resorts to soak up the relaxed seaside atmosphere. there is currently a third of houses converted to serve as holiday resorts for tourists visiting Kukup for vacation. tourists can go on a boat trip to the fish farms or even enjoy affordable seafood. the various activities that can be done there to unwind and relax will definitely attract tourists, especially those who which to leave the bustling city and experience a slower lifestyle.

Kukup will continue to sustain its distinctive characteristics of a village by the sea as it attracts tourism. This is because it is different from busy urban cities. The peaceful atmosphere at Kukup provides tourists with a different scenery. It's distinctive features like houses that are built on stilts give tourists a newer perspective of what it feels like to live away from the city. This aspect of Kukup lures tourists to visit.

I think that the village will not be able to sustain its distinctive characteristics of a village by the sea. When tourists visit and litter in the sea, the sea will become polluted and the fishery yield will deplete. Thus, demand for seafood will increase, but there is not enough supply to meet this demand. This results in an increase in prices which discourages the tourists from visiting. The economy will worsen and eventually the people in the village will have to migrate to urban areas and be unable to sustain themselves. Additionally, if prices in Kukup do increase, tourists may decide to visit other fishing villages, thus robbing Kukup of its uniqueness.

Yes. there are debates over the need to sustain the village by the sea during the Tanjung Piai election. the officials have different opinions on how the village should be preserved. As such, one of the official suggested to start on new methods of farming to improve the lives of the villagers as some of them are facing finanical issues and more. Even though there are slight changes to the way the village may work but if the people are present in the village , the distinctive characteristics would not be missing. Futhermore, the government has introduced an implementation for waste disposal which would improve the lives of the people. To sum everything, the villagers are the essence of the village so the changes that government make for them positively does not affect them much as long as they would stay.

I think the village will not sustain its distinctive characteristics. There has been a huge drop in the number of customers going to the restaurants to eat because of the current pandemic. Due to the pandemic, there are limits on the number of customers which can go on the boat. This changes the accessibility of being able to be in big groups to go on the boat for celebrations such as one's birthday. Furthermore, tourists do not want to travel overseas to risk the chances of them getting sick, leading to the restaurants having an economic loss.

The pollution of water has killed large numbers of marine life and caused many fisherman to suffer huge economic losses as they are unable to catch enough fresh fish to manufacture their products to sell.

Fishermen also use money to fish for marine wildlife but because the marine wildlife caught are not fresh, fisherman suffer money losses to fish for marin wildlife resources again which uses money as well.
