At the Rickett's point day out we learnt about how the environment around the area is affected by people and things they are trying to do to stop the things happening

E.g Fisherman are distrusting the food chain by fishing the big fish so the government made the area a marine sanctuary.

The Questions:

What is a Marine Sanctuary & why do we need to protect and conserve environments like Rickett’s Point? What things impact negatively on our environments?

Answers:

1. A Marine Sanctuary is a protected area in which human activity has been placed under some restrictions in the interest of conserving the natural environment.

2. Things that impact negatively is fishing.

This Cue day out we mainly discussed the impacts of tourism on our environment and also the impacts of the bay being drilled and how that affects marine life and land.

The Question:

"Is this type of tourism good or bad?"

Answer:

The hot springs type of tourism is great because they not only use natural resources to heat the pools but they put back into the environment by planting native trees whichj weren't there before they had come.

Ceres/Visy day out

This day out we found out where our recycling goes and what happens to it at Visy Recycling centre and at Ceres we found out how sustainable our lives are.

The Question: "What would the future be like if everyone lived like me?"

Answer: I found at Ceres that if everyone lived like me our Oil Resources would last another 100 years, the average age is 21.

On the Mt Martha Cue day out we went to a water treatment plant and a discharge pipe on the coast line. We were told were our storm water, bath wate, sink water and mainly all of our water goes to

The Question:

"How much water do I use and where does it go?"

Answer:

The average Australian uses 100 litres a day. When I have a shower or use the tap its goes into the pipes and then treated and dumped into the ocean
