1330 hours (1:30pm)- The Police headquarters received a call from Naomi Lee, who is Marcel Newgards boss at the resteraunt Biotic Bistro calling to request a wellness check on Marcel. Naomi Lee states that Marcel did not show up for his Saturday night shift and Sunday morning shift. She said it is not like Marcel to miss more than one shift ever.

1345 hours (1:45 pm)- A police officer was notifies about Naomi's call and he traveled to Marcel's house to conduct the well being check to make sure he was safe.

1400 hours (2:00 pm)- Police arrived at Marcel's house. They found Marcel laid faced down on the floor of his garage. The officer then proceded to message medical assistence in which they confirmed that Marcel had in fact been deceased. The officer proceded to call PLTW Forensic Laboratory to process and evaluate the scene. After Medical Personal called the medical examiner who came and collected the body for further evaluation.

Aiden says he last saw Marcel on Friday afternoon at 3:50 p.m. in the parking lot of the Biotic Bistro restaurant, just before Marcel started his shift. Aiden and Marcel recently met and started hanging out a couple of weeks ago. Not much is known about Aiden; he doesn’t say much around others and tends to come and go frequently. Cam recently caught Aiden going through one of the cabinets in the apartment he shares with Marcel.

Naomi says she was aware Kay and Marcel didn’t get along but she didn’t know a reason for it. She says Marcel was a good employee and customers seemed to like him.

When the medical examiner arrived at the scene at 2:30 p.m., they noted fixed lividity on the front side of the body, no signs of rigor mortis, and green discoloration of the body. The medical examiner recorded the decedent’s rectal temp as 93°F and noted that the ambient temperature inside the garage was 93°F.

After inspection of the flies, we noted that they were in Second Instar Stage. They measured around 5-10mm in length. Due to the stage the flies were in, it would indicate that marcel would be dead for 47-51 hours however these flies grow faster in warmer conditions. If the garage and Marcel's reaction temp were 93 degrees F then we can estimate Marcels death to be anything from 30-40 ish hours.

-Kay Litrell argued in an email to Marcel about stealing her tips. She said he will regret it if she doesn't get them back.

-Cam and Marcel texted about Aiden. Cam claimed he didn't like Aiden and that he caught him stealing stuff from one of their apartment cabinets. He told Marcel he didn't want him coming to their apartment anymore.

2:15 pm Friday

-Marcel and Jenn texted about Jenn borrowing his car and maybe damaging it. They said they would call each other after Marcel got off work that night.

3:30 pm Friday

-Aiden texted Marcel about meeting up before Marcel starts work.

4:07 pm Friday

-Anytown Dentistry emailed Marcel about his abscessed tooth. His appointment was scheduled for 11 am on Monday. (IMPORTANT)

10:45 pm Friday

-Cam and Marcel texted. Marcel said he was going to get batting practice in. Cam said he couldn't wait to see them when he got back from visiting his family for the weekend.

4:30 pm Saturday

-Naomi texted Marcel asking him why he was 30 minutes late.

9 am Sunday:

-Naomi texted Marcel again asking him where he is and that she would forgive him for missing Saturday.

12 pm Sunday

-Cam texted Marcel saying that Naomi was worried about him and that he missed work.

1:30 pm Sunday

-Naomi called law enforcement to check on Marcel

1:45 pm Sunday

-A police officer was noted about Naomi calling to check on Marcel. He then left the police station to go to Marcel's apartment.

2:00 pm Sunday

-Marcel was confirmed dead in his garage by Law Enforcement.

Saturday 12:00 am- 11:59 pm and

Sunday 12:00 am- 2:30 pm when investigators collected his phone for evidence.

Results look the same for every answer Naomi gave I do not believe she has any indications of lying. Both her heart and respiration rate varied but I believe it was because she was nervous because most of her answers were very similar in slope.

When Kay was asked the question "Is Friday at 10:10 p.m the last time you saw Marcel" her heart rate jumped 20 bpm with 10 seconds of answering.

Same result as Naomi his results for each answer are very similar and they don't look suspisious.

I think that her results look similar for her heart rate and respiration rate. I do not see any spike over 15 bpm on any of her questions or anything that is very clear to call out as a lie.

When Aiden was asked the question "Is friday at 3:50 p.m the last time you saw Marcel" his heart rate jumped about 10 bmp within 5 seconds of answering.

When he was also asked the question of "did you kill Marcel" his heart rate shot up to 95 beats per minute after 15 seconds of answering. His heart rate stayed at that pace for the rest of the question. His respiration rate also shot up during this question and then went back down between 15 and 30 seconds of answering.

Possible suspects:

Kay Litrell (also infered that she was lying when she last saw Marcel however her DNA was not found at the scene)

Jenn Newgard (didn't have any indications of lying/no evidence of Jenn found at the scene)

Marcel Newgard (DNA was found at the scene.)

1. Cause of Death - took Acetaminophen for tooth

2. Mechanism of Death - plaque build up in the left chambers leading him to not get enough oxygenated blood.

3. Manner of Death - accidental

Going forward Law enforcement can close this case. No one should be arrested. The death of Marcel Newgard indeed was from taking the medication for a tooth. This lead to hypertension in the walls as well as plaque build up in the heart. The build up cuts off blood flow which contributes to heart failure.
