🎶 First, stepping out of my comfort zone. Yes, I admit I’m an introvert and I’ve always avoided activities that required me to speak in public. But trust me, WSD 2024 changed everything when I decided to face my fear and speak to others. My husband and I even led the crowd in singing “Gemuruh” by Faizal Tahir! Honestly, the nervousness I felt turned into pure joy by the end of the program. I asked myself, “Why did I only try this now, when it’s so much fun and no one judges you?”

🎶 Second, the joy of singing together. I used to think singing alone in my room was the most enjoyable thing. But after WSD 2024, I realized that singing together is even more fun and truly therapeutic for me. When we sing as one, the happiness and excitement are shared, regardless of race, skin color, religion, or background. We are one family. 🩷

Bringing Baker Hughes into this initiative was like adding color to a sketch. What started as a personal passion turned into a shared mission, powered by a team that truly cares. I’m still amazed by the support, energy, and heart everyone brought to the table. It reminded me that real change doesn’t always start with a grand gesture - it can begin with just one spark, one step, one conversation. Huge thanks to everyone who helped turn this vision into reality.

This padlet holds more than memories - it captures the spirit of giving, of seeing each other, and of making a difference together.

Being part of the WSD team gave me the chance to improve my public speaking and experience the healing power of music. What made it even more special is that this was my first-ever public event, and I was so happy to see people from all walks of life come together and enjoy it with us!

Even though we may not have been perfect, it was truly touching to see everyone having such a good time.

Being behind the scenes showed me how important every role is, whether you're volunteering, helping out, or just enjoying the event. I really enjoyed being part of something that brought people together through music. Plus, it definitely boosted my confidence and helped me improve my teamwork and communication skills!

Over time, I grew from a participant to a committee member and eventually took the mic as an emcee. Each role pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me grow—not just as a speaker, but as a person. I improved my public speaking, picked up new language skills through our diverse songs and scripts, and most importantly, discovered the power of music in building connections and community.

World Singing Day taught me leadership, responsibility, and the beauty of teamwork. I’m truly grateful to be part of this big, musical family. Thank you for helping me grow—on stage and off. 💛

Before the event started, I honestly felt nervous and shy about singing in front of everyone. However, as I looked around and saw people singing with joy, and strangers who were connected through the music, I understood that WSD is more than just an event. For me, WSD was where people unite, which proved that music is indeed a universal language.

As I joined them in singing, I felt so much lighter, relieved, and happy. This experience has taught me that stepping out of comfort zone can lead to growth. Overall, it was an eye-opening and meaningful experienced. I'm glad that I took part in it :)

I didn’t expect something as simple as singing to feel so meaningful. From the moment we arrived, there was a warm and welcoming vibe. No one cared if you were a great singer or not. There were no auditions or pressure—just people from all kinds of backgrounds coming together to enjoy music.

It didn’t matter if you were trained or just someone who sings in the shower. Everyone’s voice counted. Singing with strangers felt surprisingly powerful. We were all connected through the songs.

That day reminded me how music can bring people together in the best way. I’m really glad I got to be part of it.

I noticed how my mood shifted almost instantly. Singing together seemed to lower the mental noise and bring a real sense of calm. It reminded me how powerful co-regulation can be—how our bodies and minds naturally respond when we’re in sync with others in a safe, joyful space.

Sometimes we forget how simple activities like this—music, movement, human connection—can support our emotional well-being in meaningful ways. WSD2024 was a beautiful reminder of that. I’ll definitely be back this year!

I had a lot of fun experience with the WSD crews. We had our ups and downs, with deadlines, celebrations, discussions, meetings, and collaboration. It was all a part of the journey as WSD crew.

WSD 2024 was a great success thanks to all of us crews' hard work (and yes, amidst our unexpected hurdles :'D). It all paid off when the view of crowd also joins to sing on D-day. It was an indescribable moment, where everyone just forget about life for a moment and sing together side by side. For those who had not join WSD 2024, do join one in WSD 2025. Whether as a crew or participant, I can guarantee you that it will be an unforgettable (in a good way XD) experience.

It's just sad I cannot join WSD 2025 ;-; because I am not in Malaysia... But I will still support as much as I can behind the scene as a publishing crew >:D

When I first hosted World Singing Day in 2018, it was just a small classroom project to help my polytechnic students use English in a fun, real-world way through singing! 💛

And anybody here would definitely agree when I say that music has a way of gripping hearts, right? For instance, when we hear “Pain! You made me a, you made me a believer,” it reminds us that struggles can shape our strength. And “You can move a mountain, you can break rocks. You can be a master, don't wait for luck. Dedicate yourself and you gon' find yourself” reminds us that success comes from perseverance and purpose. Well, the lyrics, the rhythm, and the emotion behind every song have helped me bring English to life in a meaningful and lively way for my students.

Eight years later, it has grown beyond anything I imagined. Today, volunteers from all walks of life, students, lecturers, and working adults come together to celebrate kindness, connection, and community through music by organizing and hosting World Singing Day together with me. 🌏✨

This year, I’m so proud to see the singing spirit expand to Penang and Perak, where the first World Singing Day in those states were held, and also Sunway University, this year being the second. Together, we continue to prove that when we Sing Together, we Unite the World! 🎵💫

💛 Every voice that joins in reminds me why I started because sometimes, all it takes is one song to bring people together, one lyric to heal, and one melody to remind us that we’re never alone. 🎶✨
