I do not currently have a co-teacher, but I loved having a co-teacher in the past. Many times, the co-teacher would handle the chat, What's Next room, etc and all I had to do was focus on teaching. During summer remediation, when our kids were home, we would switch off with being the teacher/co-teacher to make it more doable. You can take turns with teaching by the day or by the session...whatever works for you and your students. I think kids really enjoy having two teachers in the room. This year I had the privilege of having a high school student come in to help me (she was working on volunteer hours for her NHS cord) and that was a wonderful experience for her and for my students. :)

I have never co-taught until this week. :) I also have three kids ages 6, 3 and 18 months. to try and better balance my time teaching and monitoring my little ones at home, my teaching partner and I are going to try this next week:
We teach six classes back to back on Monday and Wednesday and five classes back to back on Tuesday and Thursday. On M/W I will teach the first three while my husband can HOPEFULLY monitor the kids before he leaves for work. Danielle will teach the last three. On T/TH I will teach the first two or three, and Danielle will finish. We also have one intervention in the afternoon. We are going to try to lives and two flipped lessons with a padlet.

We used a co-teaching model previously back at TXVA with SpEd/GenEd teachers for modified classes and I loved it!
I felt like the students gained even more knowledge getting TWO teacher perspectives and approaches to solve Math problems, but I also felt like we as teachers learned from each other. The GenEd teachers and I got along together great and it truly felt like a TEAM effort in creating slides/Guided Notes/recordings/etc.
I felt like it created a very welcoming, relaxing, and “homey” family environment for our students.
Unfortunately, right now I do not have a co-teacher as I teach 7th grade Math Resource solo, but I still wanted to share my feedback because I feel like we should consider this co-teaching model going forward in the future. Go Bobcats!

Our co-teaching this past week consisted of three team members. Each member took a day (T-Th) and was the lead on the lesson. The other two teammates answered chat questions, made sure everyone was on task and monitored the private chat.

This upcoming week, our co-teaching will be the same rotation on the lead but we are adding that one teacher will pull students into another room to break the lesson review down into smaller chunks for the lower level learners. A second teacher may take a different group into another room but, most likely, that second teacher will monitor the MAIN room helping to engage students and encourage participation.

It was very natural for my co-teacher BeckyW. and I to teach together now. I had been covering 2 classes in the fall and Becky took over the second class in the second semester. Prior to that, she and I were in class together as she learned the platform. We had worked so closely and well together we even had a hashtag #kleinburn :)
We started co-teaching the afternoon classes together (B and BB) and it has worked well. I have 3 children at home, and though only one needs much attention (1st grade), she needs a lot
of attention. Her school had elearning up and going after only a day's delay and students have a full day's work. Co-teaching has allowed me to give her some guidance when I am not the main teacher and that has been a life saver.
Becky and I have also come up with a couple ideas for extension learning that just came naturally from interacting with the students. For example, we are going to do an optional activity together where students create a dichotomous key. It just happened naturally as we were both interacting with students in class.
It has been a real blessing and I appreciate that we had this option.

I enjoy co-teaching with my person because one of us teaches while the other one handles the chat and answers questions. It is a great way for the primary teacher to be able to carry on with the lesson with minimal distraction. Love it!!!
